Reflection
Easter is a time when we celebrate the great Christian hope of the resurrection. During Lent and Holy Week this year it was very uplifting for me as a priest to see the Pastoral Councils of Crookstown, Kilmead and Moone working and praying together. Prior to Holy Week we had a joint meeting of the three councils, from that meeting we decided to celebrate the ceremonies in a shared way in all three churches. It was uplifting to see people coming together to pray in their different communities.
On Easter morning we gathered at Mullamast with our the Church of Ireland neighbours and their Minister Rev. Isaac along with our Auxiliary Bishop Eamonn Walsh. We have been doing this for the last three years over 200 people gathered to pray and welcome the dawn of the New Easter morning. Afterwards we had breakfast together hosted by the Pastoral Council in Crookstown.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a happy Easter and to remember Christ is Risen. The Risen Christ continues to give me hope, forged by the great sense of unity that was achieved by our people praying and sharing together their giftedness.
Thank you and may the peace of the Risen Christ remain in your hearts.
Fr. Frank Mc Evoy. P.P.
